"Top Ten Reasons Not to Vote for Mitt Romney, as seen by Syd.

10.) Mitt Romney's biggest success stories are the tales of the plights of Staples and Dominos pizza. While yes, they are impressive business success models, it's hardly the model of a successful economy that has been going downhill since Ronald Reagan. What we need for an economy is to turn around and get to a level point in both law and average income as the country was in at the end of Jimmy Carter's term, and then, likewise, elect someone who's fiscally similar to Carter. Carter lost the 1980 election due to his foreign policy failures. But while he wasn't great outside the US borders, no one should feel "I told you so" feelings stronger than Carter when it comes to the economy and all the issues that now plague us inside our own borders.

9.) Remember why Romney lost a former senate bid? Probably not, if you've got the same memory span of the average American (though who can blame us what with saturation of media and all that, it can be hard to keep up, right?) One of the reasons he lost was the embarrassing uncovering of just how poorly Bain treated it's employees at Ampad (American Pad and Paper Co.), and in the wake of all that's gone in with Enron, World Com, etc., this may be even worse, Bain Capital is being sued over the defrauding of investors. While Ampad had to declare bankruptcy, Bain made $50 Million. Romney didn't own stock at Ampad. But as vice president of Bain I'm sure he was aware of the financial benefits.

8.) And on the note of fraud, remember the Salt Lake City Olympic scandals? When Romney took over on that playing field, those scandals didn't end. Not only are the people who benefitted most from the Salt Lake City Bidding War Scandal still free of criminal charge, most of them paid handsomely enough not to stand trial. Tom Welch and Dave Johnson only paid a combined $1.2 Million in severance fees not avoid standing trial (more than your typical Massachusetts employ makes in a year) that came out out of the small profit Romney and SLOC made from the Olympics thanks to corporate welfare. (Also, on the note of corporate welfare, doesn't he stand against government handouts?)

7.) Romney was not only able to "save" the Salt Lake City Olympics, but convince the Utah congressional delegates to nearly force the Utah Parks Committee to give pristine parkland for the multi millionaire to develop in to ski slopes FOR FREE, despite the fact that he would go on to make millions off of it. By the way, most of the workers who did the grunt work on converting this park land to a ski slope even worked FOR FREE as well, just so the Salt Lake Olympic Committee (SLOC) wouldn't have to pay for it.

6.) Mitt also said he didn't notice that Utah listed him as a resident and gave him a $38,000 tax break. Anyone willing to put a wager on whether or not he'd notice a $38,000 increase?

5.) He's still surrounded by members of the Bush and Weld camps, as advisors. Do we really want someone who takes his advice from people who are politically on the ground of George Bush? I thought Obama was voted in to get away from Bush politics (really Reagan politics if you think about it, or if you want to go further back, remember that Reagan got his political start due to ties to Richard Nixon). Either way, that's a poor track record at this point, and I'm not sure trying that method again would be worth it.

4.) Romney is also out of touch with the environment. While he accepts Global Warming (which is indeed better than the president we had from 2000 til 2008), he does not believe humans to be responsible, and plans to ween America off foreign oil by supporting the drilling for oil in Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

3.) The Romney Flip-Flops: Romney is a worse Flip-flopper than the Bush administration accused John Kerry of being. Romney recently said on Meet the Press that he is not getting rid of all the health reform that Obamacare and the All Affordable Care Act enacts, but also has been standing on the platform of eliminating Obamacare. Not enough? Okay, well remember, the All Affordable Care Act was also based heavily on a bill he passed in Massachusetts a year before. It's impossible to tell what he supports in terms of health care. I'd like to at least know what we're getting with a president on the issues, but in this case his defense seems to be to literally try to appeal to everybody by promising everybody what they want to hear.

2.) Romney Flip-Flops Revisited: The social issues of abortion and gay marriage are always a hot button come election time, and again I wonder which Romney we'll get. Apart from shady financial past I've detailed above, he was actually really politically sound in Massachusetts, pushing to keep gay marriage and woman's rights to have control of her own body more than once while governor, and succeeding in a state that's population center, Boston, is the MOST REPUBLICAN URBAN DISTRACT NOT FOUND IN TEXAS. Quite an accomplishment, and one that almost makes him seem electable for the average liberal. But as soon as he decided to run for president, he decided to change his mind on both issues because "he decided to look at it from a different point of view". Now whether or not he changed his mind to be more electable but the right side of the political voters, I again want to know what we'd actually get from the administration! The reason why this is higher on the list than the other flip flop for me is during the campaign he's stuck with this stance, so I'm more inclined to believe he'd follow through with his change in politics due to the fact that he's neither gay nor female, so taking the stance doesn't effect him.

1.) President Obama. Obama hasn't been perfect. He certainly hasn't delivered everything he promised in terms of change right away. But to that I say "surprise, surprise, he's not the messiah". Just because he's not a miracle worker though, doesn't mean he hasn't been a good president. For one: he had the foresight to put ramifications in the All Affordable Care Act that don't enact their benefits until 2014, to get it passed for the American people. People say the healthcare act hasn't helped anyone very much other than the people who cannot afford healthcare of any kind, and only helped them minimally. However, that's because the real juice in the bill was grandfathered in to start in 2014 in order to get it past a Republican House of Representatives. He basically said "If you guys don't like this, beat me in 2012" and they were willing to go with it, due to his approval ratings at the time. I don't want to see Obama pushed out of office until he's had ample opportunity to deliver actual change, which means, please, don't elect Mitt Romney for America, elect a more liberal House for Obama."
